· YOU, mom and dad, are the primary teacher/proctor. (In those cases where there is a legal guardian, then the legal guardian is the primary teacher.)
· You may use or hire tutors to help your student, but you are still the primary teacher.
Books
· The primary teacher is responsible for providing the necessary curriculum (books, tests, school materials, etc…) for each of their students.
· Books can be purchased from the L.C.A. or purchase curriculum outside from the approved curriculum list.
School Hours / Attendance
· Your student must do school work for a minimum of four (4) hours a day, for one hundred and eighty days (180) a year. When enrolled in our school, you will need to submit the student'sr attendance on the Attendance & Grade Report.
· You may start counting school day s only after you are officially enrolled (no exceptions).
Grades
· You are responsible for grading each student’s work and reporting the grades to the school office through semester reports.
· The students must report to the school for testing for the Standard Achievement Testing in the spring.
Credits /College
· Your students will earn credits for their work once these reports are submitted by you – the primary teacher- to the school office.
· A student’s file is incomplete and no work can be credited if these reports are not submitted when due.
· Most colleges and universities will accept students nationwide by using the student’s ACT scores.
What services does L.C.A. provide?
Records
· We maintain student files, including: attendance reports, grade reports, achievement test scores, transcripts, transfer forms, and other school-related information.
Books
· We provide curriculum information and have books available for purchase.
· If you order books through Lighthouse Christian Academy when the books arrive onsite you will be given a deadline for books to be picked up from our office.
Testing
· We provide the Stanford Achievement Test for our students, and we have ACT information available for high school students. (The ACT testing fee is covered with registration).
Graduation
· All students who meet graduation requirements with passing standards will be awarded a Home School Diploma. Cap and gown graduation ceremonies are held at the end of the school year for those students who choose to participate and submit the proper fees.

L.C.A. HOMESCHOOL ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS
1. MUST BE ACCOMPAINED BY A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN FOR INTERVIEW.
2. PROOF OF GRADE VERIFICATION:
· Grade 1 -8:Copy of last report card
· Grade 9: Copy of last report card or TRANSCRIPT
· Grades 10-12: A copy of TRANSCIRPT IS REQUIRED

3. PROOF OF CUSTODY: Students with different last name as the parent must show proof of custody.
· Must be court documents establishing guardianship
· Marriage license couple with court order establishing custody
· Divorce decree showing custody
4. TENNESSEE CERTIFICATE OF IMMUNIZATION FORMERLY CALLED “THE GREEN CARD”
· Students from another state must get the Tennessee Certificate of Immunization from their Tennessee Doctor or Health Department.
